Mon Oncle
The talk of the town, Mon Oncle is the latest offering from chef Esben Holmboe-Bang. A French bistro, the menu of decadent dishes include the likes of scallops roasted in butter and honey, vol au vent with sweetbreads, and beef a la ‘Wellington’ with creamed mushrooms and cognac sauce. A pioneering restaurant with a ‘waste not want not’ mantra, Restaurant Rest uses leftover or imperfect ingredients that would otherwise be discarded to create an inventive multicourse fine dining tasting menu of dishes like “A crooked carrot”- pickled in carrot juice, grilled and served with carrot cream and dashi.

Katla
Following the success of the now shuttered Pjoltetgeist, Katla is the new offering from Icelandic chef Atli Mar Yngvason. This time focused around an open-fire grill, the restaurant focuses on the chef’s travels around Korea, Thailand and Mexico, but with Nordic ingredients. Reserve a spot for the eight-course tasting menu, or drop in for a taste of the à la carte menu and a margarita or two.

Happolati
The understated Asian and and Scandinavian interiors of Happolati extends to its food, which comprises an informal tasting menu inspired by Asian street food using Norwegian ingredients. Expect dishes such as the scallops with yuzu and fennel, bone marrow and oyster topped with crispy tempura, and the deliciously spicy wontons.
